EPIC 2009 Attendees Receive HeaterMeals EX 9/11/09 - The Earthquake Preparedness and Incident Conference (EPIC) was held at the FedEx Institute of Technology on the University of Memphis campus in Memphis, TN. It is the largest business continuity / disaster recovery conference in the region. The event was sponsored by The Mid-South Association of Contingency Planners (MSACP), whose mission is to provide "...an environment for members to share information about the business continuity and disaster recovery fields, and improve their job performance through peer-to-peer education." In attendance were "a large and diverse group of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Professionals." According to MSACP, "Contingency planning integrates knowledge from related disciplines such as information technology, emergency response, and crisis communications to create a strategy that ensures a business will remain resilient in the face of adversity. It is a required element for successful business and government agencies. Emergency managers and business continuity planners alike address mitigation, response and recovery planning issues."
