HeaterMeals Makes 1,000 Meal Donation to the Red Cross

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HEATERMEALS FUELS THE RED CROSS WITH 1,000 MEAL DONATION

Cincinnati, Ohio, August 23, 2013 – HeaterMeals will donate 1,000 meals to the American Red Cross to help the organization prepare for disasters and promote emergency preparedness.

The meals are being donated as part of a Facebook awareness campaign titled ‘Your likes fuel the American Red Cross’ and will be presented to the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Red Cross on Saturday, August 24 during their DisasterFair, which is taking place from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Red Cross’ Dana Avenue location.

When HeaterMeals were first developed, there were no other emergency meals. HeaterMeals were the first shelf-stable, self-heating meal with a record of service to the emergency response sector dating back to 1997.

Through the years, HeaterMeals has answered the call from the World Food Program, FEMA, the American Red Cross, Feeding America, active and reserve military units, and state and county emergency management agencies and local first responders.

The American Red Cross uses HeaterMeals after severe weather events or other disasters. The self-heating technology allows first responders and those affected by tragedy to have a hot meal, at a time when one would not normally be available. The familiar menu selections, tasty entrees, and hot food often provide victims with a sense of familiarity, comfort, and gives them an opportunity to reflect on their situation, and begin the process of rebuilding their lives. HeaterMeals are a line of self-heating, shelf stable, packaged food and beverage products that are made in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Since the introduction of HeaterMeals in 1994, the company now has four self-heating product lines, menu selections for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has become the number 1 shelf-stable, self-heating emergency meal.
