September is National Preparedness Month
The month of September is National Preparedness Month. The focus here is that while we may not be able to plan for an emergency, everyone can be prepared for that emergency. It helps to keep us from feeling so helpless in time of emergency or disaster.

The hope of this campaign is to encourage households, businesses, and communities to prepare for emergencies and make us all a little more self-reliant during an emergency, especially if the power was out for three days and there was no access to fresh water, no access to a supermarket or other local services. There may also be no response from police, fire or medical or, at the very least, much delayed services.
